FR coveralls for oil, gas and process plants
A large share of PPE bought in Abu Dhabi goes to oil and gas, refining and petrochemical contractors, and their specifications are strict about flame resistant clothing. The question we get most from Abu Dhabi buyers is a simple one: does this coverall carry the standard named in our contract?
This is what our catalogue lists, product by product:
- Tintrex Coverall BTC 4050 (Border): 98% FR cotton with 2% antistatic fibre, 240 GSM, YKK metal zip, 1-inch FR reflective tape. Listed to EN ISO 11612 (A1, A2, B1, C1, F1), EN ISO 11611 Class 1, EN 1149-5, IEC 61482-2, NFPA 70E CAT 2 and NFPA 2112.
- Firewing Coverall BSW 0360 (BSW): inherently flame resistant, 55% modacrylic, 43% cotton and 2% antistatic, 180 GSM. Listed to EN ISO 11612 (A1, A2, B1, C1, F1) and EN 1149-5.
- Firexe Coverall BFRC 0950 (Border) and Noburn Coverall TFRC 2000 (TopSafe): 100% FR cotton, around 200-220 GSM, listed to EN ISO 11611 and EN ISO 11612. These suit welding and general hot work. The Firexe runs up to 7XL.
We do not claim vendor approval with any operator. What we can do is match standards: send us the PPE clause from your contract and we will point you to the coveralls whose datasheets list what it asks for, so your HSE team can check them line by line. Our FR coveralls guide and the IFR vs FR comparison explain treated cotton against inherent fibres.

Musaffah and ICAD workshops
Musaffah (also written Mussafah) and ICAD hold most of Abu Dhabi's fabrication shops, machine shops, scaffolding yards and vehicle workshops. These crews wear through gloves and work clothes fast, so the orders are frequent and practical: leather double palm gloves like the BHG 119 (EN 388:2016, 4233) for steel handling, heavy welding gloves, BSG 0402 goggles with an EVA gasket for grinding, and cotton work suits. The Aurex Work Suit BAS 2011 is 270 GSM cotton with 2-inch reflective tape, a heavier fabric that lasts longer in a workshop.
KIZAD, Khalifa Port and the logistics zones
KIZAD and the area around Khalifa Port are warehouses, manufacturing plants and container yards with steady forklift and truck movement. Buyers here order S1P safety shoes, hi-vis vests and traffic safety items: cones, folding barricades, wheel stoppers and convex mirrors for blind corners in racking aisles.
Ruwais, Al Dhafra and Al Ain
Ruwais and the Al Dhafra region are a long drive west of the city, and plant access is controlled. Shutdown and maintenance work there needs fall arrest kit as well as clothing: EN 361 full body harnesses, the BRFA 0800 retractable fall arrester (EN 360, 10 m galvanised wire rope) and the BTP 0900 rescue tripod for vessel and tank entry. See the full fall protection range.
Al Ain buyers are mostly construction, the industrial area and farms. Dust is the main complaint there, so N95 masks and sealed goggles sell alongside the usual shoes and helmets. Al Ain sits on the Oman border; for Buraimi and beyond, see our Oman page.
Delivery, heat and the summer break
Delivery is within 24 hours across the UAE, Abu Dhabi included. For remote plants, put the gate, receiving contact and any vehicle pass needed on the order, and confirm the timing for that site when you order.
From mid June to mid September outdoor work stops for the midday break, but crews still work long hours either side of it. Cotton coveralls breathe better than polyester, the BSVM 1920 mesh vest lets air through, and our heat illness guide lists what supervisors should watch for.
