Small island, heavy industry
Bahrain packs a refinery, an aluminium smelter, a shipyard, a deep-water port and a busy construction and hospitality sector into a short drive. That means one buyer can need FR clothing, rescue equipment and kitchen shoes in the same month. Our Bahrain sales desk on +973 6696 6562 handles quotes and documents locally, and goods ship in from the UAE.
| Area | Main work | PPE that comes up most |

| Hidd | Port, ship repair, industrial investment zones | Welding PPE, confined space rescue kit, gumboots |
| Salman Industrial City | Factories, logistics, light manufacturing | S1P shoes, coated gloves, work suits, hi-vis vests |

Hot metal: read the FR code carefully
This matters for anyone buying for work near the smelter. EN ISO 11612 uses letter codes for each type of heat: A for limited flame spread, B for convective heat, C for radiant heat, F for contact heat, and D and E for molten aluminium and molten iron splash. A garment is only tested for the codes on its label.
Our Tintrex BTC 4050 and BSW Firewing BSW 0360 list A1, A2, B1, C1 and F1. Neither lists D or E. That makes them good choices for refinery, gas and general hot work, but not on their own for pot room or casting work where molten aluminium can splash. If your job needs a D rating, tell us before you order so we can discuss it properly rather than sell the wrong garment. Other coveralls in the range, such as the Firexe BFRC 0950, list EN ISO 11611 and EN ISO 11612 for welding and hot work.
Around hot work, our fire safety range adds fibreglass fire blanket rolls in 0.5, 0.8 and 1 mm thickness, and leather gloves such as the BHG 119 double palm glove (EN 388:2016, 4233).
Sitra: refinery and industrial area
For refinery and tank farm work, ask for FR clothing that is also antistatic to EN 1149-5; both the Tintrex and Firewing list it. Pair it with S3 safety shoes such as the Stabler Ankle Plus BFP 2063 (EN ISO 20345:2022 S3, steel toe cap and midsole, oil resistant). For oil, acid and alkali handling, the TopSafe TNG 6004 fully nitrile coated glove is rated EN 388 3111X; check chemical suitability with your HSE team, since EN 388 covers mechanical risks only. We do not claim approval from any operator, but we will match the standard your contract names and send the datasheets.
Hidd: shipyards, tanks and confined spaces
Ship repair means welding inside hulls, tanks and double bottoms, which makes confined space rescue part of the PPE list. Our fall protection range covers it:
- BTP 0900 rescue tripod: aluminium alloy and alloy steel, height adjustable from 1.5 m to 2.5 m, three anchorage points, EN 795.
- BRW 0910 rescue winch: manual, 5 mm stainless steel wire rope, up to 35 m lifting distance, 140 kg rated load, EN 1496.
- BFH 0400 full body harness: 45 mm polyester webbing, chrome-plated steel hardware, EN 361.
Dock and wash-down areas also need PVC gumboots such as the BFP 2900, which is oil, acid and alkali resistant with an anti-slip sole. Note that it has no toe cap or midsole, so it is not a safety boot; our safety shoes vs gumboots guide explains when to use which.
Manama, Muharraq and Salman Industrial City
Construction and fit-out contractors order EN 397 helmets, hi-vis vests and cotton work suits. Hotels and facilities companies order uniforms with their logo and kitchen safety shoes like the BSW 0515 (composite toe cap, Kevlar midsole, S1P). Factories in Salman Industrial City order lighter S1P shoes and coated gloves for production lines and warehouses. Humid summers make mesh vests like the BSVM 1920 worth the switch.

Orders go from the UAE by road through Saudi Arabia and over the King Fahd Causeway, by sea from Jebel Ali to Khalifa Bin Salman Port at Hidd, or by air for urgent small orders. Lead time depends on the route and clearance, so we confirm it on each quotation. We can share the invoice, packing list, datasheets and test reports your clearing agent needs.
To order, call or WhatsApp the Bahrain sales desk on +973 6696 6562 or email sales.bahrain@bordersafetywears.com. For projects on the mainland side of the causeway, see our Saudi Arabia page; we also supply Qatar and Kuwait.
