An Oman sales line, goods trucked from the UAE
Oman buyers can reach our Oman sales desk directly on +968 9698 6213 or sales.oman@bordersafetywears.com. Stock is held in the UAE, and Oman is the one GCC market we reach by road on most orders, so mixed loads of shoes, coveralls, helmets and site items travel together on one truck.
Oman orders tend to come from four places: facilities and construction in Muscat, heavy industry around Sohar Port and Freezone, the refinery, port and dry dock projects at Duqm, and port and logistics work in Salalah. Oil and gas crews in the interior, around Fahud, Marmul and Nimr, add their own lists.
Kit lists by role
Here is what we would put in a starter kit for common Oman roles. Adjust the quantities to your headcount and size split.
| Role | Kit |
|---|---|
| FM technician (Muscat) | Cotton work suit with company logo, S1P shoes, coated gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs |
| Plant operator (Sohar, Duqm) | FR antistatic coverall, S1P or S3 safety shoes, EN 397 helmet, EN 166 glasses |
| Oilfield crew (interior) | FR coverall, rigger boots, helmet with ratchet, leather gloves, mesh hi-vis vest |
| Port and wash-down work (Salalah, Sohar) | PVC gumboots, cotton coverall with reflective tape, nitrile coated gloves |
| Scaffolder at a shutdown | EN 361 harness, leather gloves, rigger boots, helmet with ratchet |
Sohar and Duqm
Sohar's industrial port hosts aluminium, steel, refining and petrochemicals. Duqm's special economic zone adds a refinery, a port and ship repair. Both work to written PPE specifications and bring in large contract crews for turnarounds.
Where gas may be present, ask for FR clothing that is also antistatic. Two of our coveralls list EN 1149-5 alongside EN ISO 11612: the Tintrex BTC 4050 (98% FR cotton, 2% antistatic, 240 GSM, also listed to NFPA 2112 and IEC 61482-2) and the BSW Firewing BSW 0360. We do not claim operator approval for any product; we match the standard your contract names and send the datasheet so your HSE team can check it.
Oilfield crews in the interior
Rigger boots are the usual choice for desert crews because they slip on and off quickly. The Border BFP 2020 rigger boot has a breathable cow split leather upper, mesh lining, steel toe cap and steel midsole, rated S1P under EN ISO 20345. Remote crews should leave with complete kits and spares, since a missing size is a long drive away. Other styles are under safety shoes.
Salalah and the Khareef
Dhofar has its own season. The Khareef, roughly June to September, brings drizzle, fog and wet ground to Salalah while the rest of Oman is at its hottest. Port and outdoor crews there need footwear that copes with water: the BFP 2900 PVC gumboot is oil, acid and alkali resistant, water repellent and anti-slip. In poor visibility, hi-vis matters more than usual; see safety vests and jackets.
Summer heat in Muscat and the north
From May to September, outdoor work in Muscat, Sohar and the interior is hard on people and kit. The BSVM 1920 mesh safety vest is 120 GSM polyester mesh, made for hot and humid sites. Cotton work wear, such as the 240 GSM BSW Premier Coverall BSW 1000, is cooler than polyester blends. Our heat illness guide applies to Oman sites as much as UAE ones.
Height work
For scaffolding and shutdowns, the BFH 0400 full body harness is listed to EN 361 and EN 358, with 45 mm polyester webbing. Helmets such as the BSH 1230 with ratchet are listed to EN 397. The full range is under fall protection.
Shipping and paperwork
Most Oman orders go by truck from the UAE through the land border, which suits mixed loads. Larger project orders can go by sea to Sohar, Duqm or Salalah, and urgent small orders by air. Lead time depends on the route and clearance, so we confirm it on the quotation. We share the commercial invoice, packing list, datasheets and test reports your clearing agent needs.
